Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Basterrica- Upsetting, uncomfortable, with too many metaphors and parallels to draw to modern life. 10/10

Children of Strife by Adrian Tchaikovsky- One of my favorite current sci-fi authors, I’m a big fan of this sequel. His previous book, Children of Memory, got a little too esoteric for me, but this one brought the series back.
